  1. To divest the stock means selling it to a willing buyer. The stock does not disappear and the company does not go away. It just means someone else owns, manages, and managing the company. There is something to continuing to own the stock and having some input over how it is run.

  2. It always puzzles me, why people invest in “funds”. Why not do a bit of research (easy now the Internet exists) and invest directly in a company. No shortage of good renewable companies (or indeed, those that are focused on energy efficiency). Investing in a spread fo companies reduce the risk & you know exactly where your money is going. The perfromance of most of the investment funds tends to “track the market” begging the question – why bother using them. For the avoidance of doubt, I have been invested in the stock market for +40 years. & nope, I have no “tips” and refuse to give advice apart from the above.
