  1. This is a very good post !
Indeed, something should be done to explain to politicians, and even to EC or DG Energy, that H2 for energy (heat, power or both-in cogen) it is an unrealistic dream …thermodynamics, energy balances and economics of power & heat systems demonstrate this beyond any doubt. H2 use in other fields might be good, of course, but, not energy.
So, the legitimate question: why EC is promoting something like that !?!?…again politics ??…we may end up like Romanian Government deciding through Gov decision, which is High Efficiency cogeneration and which is not !?
If we let politicians decide on the results of scientific laws or axioms, then, we are lost !

    1. Catalin, you express this very well. With revised directives coming up this year, there will be opportunities to raise t he points you make. Let’s hope they are done successfully

  2. worse than this !…these energy balances, concerning H2 production and use back for energy production, could be easily demonstrated as inefficient, even by a mediocre student of any technical university, anywhere in the world. It is not needed a huge number of experts to demonstrate this, as a waste of precious time and resources
Bottom line: let’s get back to school !
