There are many items of interest this week:
- The Official Journal published the Implementing Decision establishing a template for National Energy Efficiency Action Plans under Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council. The Implementing Decision is available here.
- EiD will be a co-organiser together with EEIP (Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes) at EU Sustainable Energy Week. The industrial energy efficiency event on financing is on June 27th at 9 am. There are stellar speakers and Rod will be moderator. Entitled “Financing Energy Efficiency: Why Bother?” has to entice you to attend. Download the programme here.
- The Coalition for Energy Savings has published a guidebook to navigate the new Energy Efficiency Directive. Entitled the Guidebook for Strong Implementation, the Coalition for Energy Savings has broken down the Directive into main themes and legal requirements, as well as developed a list of good practices for a strong, ambitious and complete implementation of the legislation. The Coalition hopes that the information in this Guidebook will not only empower stakeholders to champion a successful implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive, but also drive home the importance of energy savings in building a more sustainable and competitive Europe. - Remember about the consultation for the Green Paper on “A 2030 framework for climate and energy policies”. You have until July 2nd. Information is available on DG Energy’s website.
- Link of the week: ABB, the Swiss power and automated technologies company, has prepared In-depth reviews of the energy efficiency policies of 45 different countries including the Group of 20 (G-20). They are available on its website.
- News from the IEA’s Sustainable Building Centre. It was a surprise to find out this week that its widely read and appreciated blog has now come to an end. Surely this must only be temporary. Yamina Saheb and her team working on buildings energy efficiency has many supporters and we only hope the blog will be back.
- This year’s eceee Summer Study is this coming week from June 3rd to 8th. The theme is Rethink, Renew, Restart. Hope to have chats with many of you. See you soon.
