Andrew Warren, Chairman of the British Energy Efficiency Federation, writes this: So, whilst this bank’s announcement is welcome, I do wonder why all banks have not been automatically taking such ratings into account before now? After all, the purpose of such energy performance certificates is in part to tell financiers how high or low fuel bills are likely to be, thus impacting upon the probability (or improbability)  of any repayment defaults.
