EiD wishes you a Happy New Year and all the best for 2024

Hopefully you had a chance to relax over the festive season and to prepare for 2024. While the EU policy framework for energy efficiency and renewable energy is now in place, every effort must be made to scale up implementation. Check out the column on the eceee website by Rémi Collombet from EuroACE that says the focus is now turning to implementation of the buildings directive

COP28 is over and an important post this week reviews the summit. And do read an overview of the results at COP28 by friend of EiD Gunnar Boye Olesen from the International Network for Sustainable Energy (INFORSE). Let us know your views of COP28.

The eceee Zero Carbon Industry event will take place 30–31 January 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium. The focus is on implementation and meeting our long-term decarbonisation objectives. Early bird registration is now open. Check out the programme. EiD is a partner of the event and Rod is a panel leader. This is an event not to miss.

With so many people planning to travel over the upcoming weeks, here is some useful news to help you along:

Mortimer J. Adler (1902-2001), American philosopher, educator, encyclopaedist, and popular author gives us a good message on reading good books: “In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.”

EiD welcomes your views about this week’s selection of posts on the zero-carbon energy transition:

Please send us your comments on any of the posts. Please follow us on X at @EnergyDemand and @rodjanssen. Please recommend EiD to your friends and colleagues.
