A very very fine idea. I have some suggestions. Most parking systems require a number plate be entered – this then allows the machine to calculate how obese the machine is & thus charges accordingly. I suggest starting with a x2 charge for “ordinary” SUVs rising to x10 for Hummers & such like. One is tempted to feel a bit sorry for the imbeciles that drive such vehicles: they have been groomed by the auto-industry – & one has a natural sympathy for victims. However, sympathy has its limits so I’d add a stupidity surcharge for 30% for owning such a vehicle & have it listed as such. As badger would say “that’ll learn em” (& for the avoidance of doubt: a Skoda Superb Break, I like breaks – same fuel consumption as a saloon, but lots more space).
