This dataset from the European Environment Agency contains the location and administrative data for the largest industrial complexes in Europe, releases and transfers of regulated substances to all media, waste transfers as well as more detailed data on energy input and emissions for large combustion plants. These data are reported to EEA under Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) 2010/75/EU Commission Implementing Decision 2018/1135 and the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) Regulation (EC) No 166/2006 Commission Implementing Decision 2019/1741. The dataset brings together data formerly reported separately under E-PRTR Regulation Art.7 and under IED Art.72. Additional reporting requirements under the IED are also included.

A number of reporting countries have to date not submitted data.
This dataset does not contain any data for Norway and Slovakia.
Data for reporting year 2018 for Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, and Portugal is incomplete.
Data for reporting year 2019 for Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Switzerland is incomplete.
The dataset will be updated and a new version will be made available as soon as missing reporting has been submitted.
Due to the fact that data in this dataset was submitted based on two separate reporting obligations, the dataset contains administrative and regulatory data beginning with reporting year 2017. Thematic data on pollutant releases and transfers, waste transfers as well as data relating to large combustion plants is included as of reporting year 2017.
Inclusion of historic data reported under E-PRTR and IED
EEA is currently mapping data historically reported to the E-PRTR and IED to the new data model behind the dataset at hand.
Thematic data regarding pollutant releases and transfers as well as waste transfers reported to the E-PRTR for reporting years 2007 to 2017 will be incorporated into this dataset at a later date.
Similarly data regarding fuel inputs, emissions and others formerly made available via the Large Combustion Plant inventory will also be incorporated. The latter will only take place for reporting years 2016 and 2017.
This is the first time that EEA is making available data reported via the two new reporting data flows. We would appreciate your feedback regarding the user-friendliness of the database provided. Your feedback regarding for example the queries included for your convenience would be very much appreciated. Please contact us as email@example.com to provide your feedback.
