New report on status of renewable and energy efficiency support schemes in Europe in 2012 and 2013

The Council of the European Energy Regulators (CEER) has published its Status Review on Renewable and Energy Efficiency Support Schemes in Europe; an update to the 2011 and 2013 editions. The purpose of CEER Status Review publications is to collect comparable data on RES support in Europe in order to provide policy-makers, regulators and industry participants with information on support schemes for electricity from renewable energy sources, by technology and type of instrument (e.g. Feed-in tariffs and Green Certificates). This document provides and update to the previous editions in 2011 and 2013.

The report collects comparable data on RES support in Europe, providing information for 2012 and 2013, including:

  • Average proportion of gross electricity produced receiving RES support: 12.6% in 2012
  • Weighted average unit support levels for RES: 110.65€/MWh in 2013
  • Priority access and dispatching for RES plants in many countries
  • A range of measures and instruments for supporting RES used across Europe

The report is available on the CEER website.
