There are two major events in Europe in 2014 on energy efficiency and abstracts and it is time to now think about the paper you want to present.
eceee Industrial Summer Study
The eceee’s second industrial Summer Study will be held June 2-5, 2014 in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The theme is “Retool for a Competitive and Sustainable Industry.” It covers all types of industry, from manufacturing and food processing to heavy process industry, and it covers large companies as well as SMEs.
At the heart of eceee’s work is evidence-based knowledge on energy efficiency. All eceee’s Summer Studies are part of generating and sharing this knowledge. This will be always be an integrated part of anything that eceee does. While Summer Study papers are peer-reviewed, eceee is introducing the possibility to present papers that do not undergo a rigorous peer-review, but still offer conference participants the option to present a project and to get feedback from panel leaders and fellow conference participants.
Abstracts are due by November 1st.
There are six themes for the 2014 Summer Study call for papers:
- Programmes to promote industrial energy efficiency
- Sustainable production design and supply chain initiatives
- Matching policies and drivers: Policies and directives to drive industrial efficiency
- Undertaking high impact actions: The role of technology and systems optimisation
- The role of energy management systems, education, outreach and training
- Business models to improve industrial efficiency, global perspective.
More information is available on the eceee website.
International Energy Policies & Programmes Evaluation Conference (IEPPEC)
The conference connects evaluators and implementers of low carbon policies and programmes. IEPPEC will be held in Berlin, September 9-11, 2014 with a workshop on the 8th.
Policies and programmes for increased energy efficiency, energy savings and reduction of GHG emissions are ranked as top priorities by EU, IEA and UN to help the world face the critical issues of climate change and resource conservation. The increasing focus on energy policy and programmes has resulted in more challenging objectives and growing investment. There is therefore a need to improve the assessment of potential and actual impacts and to really understand what works and what does not. That’s why high-quality evaluation practices are essential: to overcome the barrier due to the lack of confidence in the results, and to foster experience sharing.
Abstracts are due December 16th. If your abstract is accepted you will participate in a peer reviewed paper production process. At least two other authors will work with you on your paper, and you will work with two other authors and their paper. The organisers will nominate papers for publication or you are free to nominate your own paper after the conference.
For more information on the conference and previous conferences in North, go to their website.

Looking at interesting conferences in 2014, there will be also the 8th international conference on Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings (IEECB’14, Frankfurt (Germany), 2nd and 3rd April 2014)
