Benoit Lebot, well known to many EiD readers, works for the United Nations Development Programme in Dakar, Senegal but he recently was able to attend the Australian Alliance to Save Energy (A2SE) Summer Study on Energy Efficiency and Decentralised Energy in Sydney, Australia. A2SE is now on YouTube and presented Benoit as the charismatic and passionate Benoit Lebot. Anyone who knows him would agree. But, the video is important because Benoit stresses that the first step is changing behaviour and the second step is then energy efficiency. We are not giving enough attention to behaviour change and this is an important message, particularly for those in Europe. But Benoit also uses the image of a bathtub in terms of looking at GHG emissions. Check it out here. It is well worth the watch. And go to the A2SE website for more on its successful Summer Study.
