IEA Sustainable Buildings Centre launches interactive database

EiD is pleased to see that the IEA Sustainable Buildings Centre has recently  launched its interactive and user-friendly BEEP (Building Energy Efficiency Policies) database.

The BEEP database is a global one-stop shop for building energy codes, labelling and incentive schemes implemented in the 28 IEA member countries, the BRICS countries (Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa) as well as Tunisia for a total of 34 countries. BEEP currently provides detailed information on more than 400 building energy codes, 200 labelling schemes and 200 incentive schemes.

For each country, the BEEP database offers at a glance the full buildings energy efficiency policy context, down to the state level in federal countries. Each policy considered is described in a clear, concise and readable way. Energy consumption data for the buildings sector is also provided on interactive charts in order to put policies in their national context.

This will be a useful tool for policy-makers, practitioners, industry and researchers looking at effective policies that are being implemented. The BEEP database is accessible for free at www.sustainablebuildingscentre.org.
